Kenneth Rapp or Kenny, as his friends and customers call him, was born in Miami, FL and has lived mostly in the Southern United States where he started training dogs with his father ( the creator of "HOME DOG TRAINING" in 1962 and author of 7 books on the subject) at age seven. His family eventually ended up in the Texas panhandle. Kenny graduated from Canyon High School in Canyon, TX. After a brief 10-year stint in the U.S. Air force, Kenny returned to the dog world where in 1991 he opened his first franchise. Since 1991 Kenny has continued the gentle training philosophy, ensuring that his father's methods and ideas will never die.
The gentle training method uses voice corrections and positive reinforcement techniques, which differs from most other training methods. He concentrates on private training in the home to stop bad habits. Most commonly, Kenny is called on to housebreak dogs, breaking bad habits, i.e. jumping on people, running out doors, annoying company, begging for food, and such, and to obey the traditional obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, and come. But, Kenny underplays the importance of obedience commands, he is more interested in producing a well behaved dog than a trick performer.
In addition to training dogs, Kenny likes to spend his non-working hours riding his motorcycle and participating in short get-aways to South Texas for cattle drives.
